Quality Control Circle (QCC) Convention Agung Logistics

Agung Logistics’ 2nd Quality Control Circle (QCC) Convention: Promoting Digitalization and Green Logistics

Have you ever imagined a logistics company that not only prioritizes operational efficiency, but also cultivates a spirit of improvement from every individual in it? That is what Agung Logistics continues to strive for through its Quality Control Circle (QCC) program. After successfully holding its first convention last year, Agung Logistics is holding its second Quality Control Circle (QCC) Convention on July 23, 2026, at the Agung Concern Building Hall.

With the theme “Elevate Our Business With Digitalization & Green Logistics,” this event is more than just a competition between teams. More than that, the QCC Convention serves as a platform to demonstrate how the spirit of continuous improvement can drive better, more efficient, and more environmentally friendly integrated logistics services.

What is Quality Control Circle (QCC)?

Before delving deeper into this second QCC event, let’s first understand what a Quality Control Circle is. A QCC is a small group of employees who voluntarily gather regularly to identify, analyze, and solve quality-related problems and work processes in their environment.

This concept is rooted in the principle of kaizen, or “continuous improvement,” which has been proven effective in increasing employee efficiency and engagement across various industrial sectors. In the dynamic logistics industry, a QCC is a highly relevant tool for finding innovative solutions to daily operational challenges, from warehousing efficiency to supply chain optimization.

Agung Logistics’ 2nd QCC Journey

Agung Logistics’ second QCC journey began with incredible enthusiasm. A total of 16 circles from across Agung Logistics’ business units registered and began their quality improvement journey.

Of the 16 circles that started, 12 circles successfully completed all QCC stages. A rigorous selection process then selected the top five teams, or circles, to advance to the final round of this year’s QCC Convention. These five top teams presented the results of their hard work to a panel of judges and invited guests.

What makes the QCC program at Agung Logistics so special is the passion behind it. As stated by Mr. Junichi Ueno, Technical Advisor and Chief Executive of the 2nd QCC Convention, QCC activities are carried out “without any demands and no one asks for anything.” QCC activities are carried out by participants based on their own voluntary and motivated efforts. This is clear evidence that a culture of improvement has been deeply ingrained in Agung Logistics.

Highlight: 2nd QCC Convention

On July 23, 2026, the Agung Concern Building Hall witnessed the culmination of the months-long QCC journey. A solemn and enthusiastic atmosphere enveloped the event, which carried the overarching theme of “Elevate Our Business With Digitalization & Green Logistics.”

This theme is highly relevant to the direction of today’s logistics industry. Digitalization opens up opportunities for greater efficiency through integrated systems such as Agung Logistics’ Warehouse Management System (WMS), Transport Management System (TMS), and tracking system. Meanwhile, green logistics is a global commitment to reducing carbon footprints and creating more sustainable supply chains.

The event opened with remarks from Mr. Junichi Ueno, Head of the Agung Logistics QCC Secretariat. In his remarks, he expressed his gratitude and joy that, despite facing structural reorganization last year, the QCC Convention was still able to take place. He also expressed his admiration for the participants who carried out QCC activities with dedication and without coercion.

The next remarks were delivered by Mr. Jamborette L.G., Managing Director of Operations & Marketing at Agung Logistics. He wished all participants good luck and expressed his hope that the second QCC would be even better and more engaging than the first. He also hoped that Agung Logistics Business Units that hadn’t sent participants this year, such as Agung Line, Agung Transina, Agung Tamaraya, Agung Lintas Raya, and ANG, would participate in the next QCC.

A key message from Mr. Jamborette L.G. that is worth noting was: “The most important thing is that the activities carried out during the QCC can serve as guidelines and continue to be implemented to improve operations in the field, not stopping at this QCC summit.” QCC activities are expected to benefit the participants individually, their departments, and foster a better work culture, and ultimately, Agung Logistics as a whole.

Line-up of Figures and Jury

The presence of prominent figures and a competent panel of judges added to the excitement and credibility of the event. The second QCC was attended by management and invited guests from Agung Logistics partners, including:

More Than Just a Competition

Two key messages emerging from the 2nd QCC Convention are worth reflecting on.

First, from Mr. Junichi Ueno: his admiration for the volunteer spirit of the participants. Amidst the challenges of a significant structural reorganization, the participants remained consistent in carrying out QCC activities. This isn’t about prizes or recognition, it’s about the internal motivation to continuously improve.

Second, from Mr. Jamborette L.G.: QCC is not an end in itself, but a means. Operational improvements resulting from QCC activities must continue in the field, long after the convention is over. It is hoped that the QCC activities undertaken will benefit the participants themselves, their departments, and a better work culture, and ultimately, Agung Logistics.

The bottom line is this: QCC reflects Agung Logistics’ commitment to quality, which ultimately results in superior service to its customers.
