INDUSTRY.co.id – Jakarta – The plan to merge four port SOEs, namely PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo I-IV) (Persero) into one Pelindo, is getting closer. The Pelindo I-IV merger is considered a strategic plan from the government as a shareholder to make port services better.

“So this plan will play a major role in the development of national ports so that we can better compete with competitors from abroad,” said Presetyo, President Director of Pelindo I, in the socialization of the Merger plan which was held.

The President Director of Pelindo II, Arif Suhartono, revealed that currently the management of ports in Indonesia is carried out by 4 BUMN entities. “The capabilities of each of these SOEs can be different both in terms of finance, human resources, and experience, which has an impact on differences in the output of services provided,” explained Arif.
