PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Persero) or PT PELNI signed a cooperation agreement for the Sending Goods by Sea Transportation ‘Sea postal shipments’ with PT Pos Indonesia. This cooperation is a collaboration of BUMN for the optimization and development of sea-based goods transportation.
The signing was carried out directly by the Director of Freight Transportation and Sea Toll Business of PT PELNI Yahya Kuncoro with the Director of Operations and Information Technology of PT Pos Indonesia Hariadi in Jakarta.Pjs.
Head of Corporate Secretariat of PT PELNI Opik Taufik said that currently there are 6.4 million tons/m3 of sea cargo transported by PELNI.

“The collaboration to sending goods by sea transportation has been established since 2014 and continues until now. Since this cooperation was implemented until 2021, the sea postal cargo that has been transported by PELNI ships is 6.4 million tons/m3,” said Opik in his statement.
“We will continue to ensure that postal cargo is properly distributed so that it can be forwarded by the Post Office to the end user,” he added.
Previously, PT PELNI has also established cooperation in the logistics sector, namely the transportation management dooring service (JPT) with PT Tiki Jalur Nugraha Ekakurir (JNE) on Tuesday (21/9). This cooperation is to develop the logistics business.
“This collaboration is a form of the Company’s commitment to developing the logistics business to achieve the Company’s vision and mission,” added Opik.
For information, until August 2021, PT PELNI has transported 13,212 tons of General Cargo, 3,196 TEUs of containers and 2,959 units of vehicles. In the logistics business service, PELNI also operates 9 sea toll routes and 1 special route for livestock transportation.
